About Our Club

Intro Letter

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our newly formed club.

The name we selected is the Bay Area Stampede Club. We are a certified Domestic Nonprofit Corporation with the state of Texas. We are also approved by the IRS to be exempt from federal income tax under (IRC) section 501 (c) (3) as a pubic charity. As such we are qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.

As volunteers/members of Cedar Bayou 4-H, GCM FFA booster club and Baytown Youth Fair we have seen the great work done by these and many more organizations that help the youth. As parents we also know the cost of having kids participate in activities such as raising show animals. We most of all know the rewards our kids have received from being able to participate in these clubs and activities. Sadly these opportunities are not available to all kids… Yes any child can join a club. It is our hope that they will join a club that teaches them the life’s lessons of leadership, commitment, hard work, dedication, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and many more.

There are many obstacles that prevent kids/families from being able to take part in raising and showing livestock. Some of these reasons are: Where they live. City code, Deed restrictions and Home owner associations have restraints that prevent livestock from being raised at home. Knowledge of the animals and financial restraints are some of the obstacles we hope to address.

We have to remove these obstacles thru education, opportunity and financial support.

  • School districts have and are building barns that will allow FFA members to house their animals. Kids who are too young for FFA still have a need and our long term goal is to one day have a place that the kids can house their animals.
  • Knowledge of the animals is addressed thru many avenues. Ag teachers, 4-H leaders, other parents, other kids and breeders. If you purchase your animal from a reputable breeder they will assist you with what you need to do from start to finish and become coach and mentor to your child.
  • Bay Area Stampede Club has formed to help ease the financial burdens associated with the cost of raising and showing livestock. We will accomplish this by sponsoring and purchasing the kids livestock at area Fairs and Shows. (Where funds allow)

Success will be achieved not when the kids’ make money with their livestock, but rather by being able to continue to participate in these educational activities. If we want a better community, we have to build better citizens.

* The club does not wish to take away sponsors or members of any other club that is in support of the kids. These clubs include but not limited to 4-H, FFA, BYF, Spur club, Heifer club and Diamond Girls. These are outstanding organizations and we fully support their efforts.

Thank you for your support!
